Me text to my mom: 8 PM last night “ Do you want some watermelon?”

My Mom: “Yes yes yes!!”

Me at 9:30 PM: “I have 2 sticky buns I can bring over for breakfast”

My mom: “Wonderful! Sticky buns and watermelon with coffee!”

Yeah, it wasn’t really my plan to mix sticky buns and watermelon together. But my mom is very creative and has always opened my mind to ways of thinking. I admit I kind of cringed because that was a combo I had never heard of. Within seconds, I realized it actually sounded good.  Sweet complemented by watery mild juice of the watermelon. The coffee is a no brainer I will drink with anything.

Just in life we sometimes get caught up in what is accepted as having to follow a guideline. There are no strict rules in food—it’s all a matter of personal taste, much like music.  It is what appeals to you and the person you want to be in your circle or want to share the moment with.
