I have been a bit sad this Summer. I have loved having this pair of frogs in my small above ground pond the past 2 summers. Every winter day I would peer out and pray that they survived their frozen state in the super cold water (something I never realized they could do).
As the water slowly warmed and Spring came only one frog survived. I was sad, but understood this was nature. He was alone, but still would seek his special rock to bask in the sun.
He even inspired me one morning to write a song called ‘Token For You’, a song the music of nature in the morning.
One stormy Spring day this year, a sudden storm with a torrential downpour and strong winds passed through and I never saw the lone frog again.
Days passed, and I would peak in the pond and continue to care for it hoping that maybe it was just hiding or one of it’s tadpoles lived on.
Four months later, now in August, I just happened to peak out my kitchen window and saw an odd shape in my pond. Honestly, my first thought was a branch or something fell into the pond. But being the optimist that I am, I quickly glanced harder and slowly approached with care. Sure enough! A happy frog was chilling out on the rock.
To some this may be like “what’s the big deal?” Let me just say that I love nature and I get very attached to animals. I will be the person who can’t stand movies when the dog or other creature dies. Tears will fall, as hard as I try to compose myself. For those of you who do understand, enjoy this happy story.

Oh, I get it 100% and I love the happy ending! 😉
Yay!
