Music Feeding Other’s Soul
Writing songs was really a default for the fact I couldn’t read music or didn’t have the patience to learn. It was a big challenge during my grade school piano lessons. So instead, I would just go over to the piano and doodle and sing, until one day it started sounding decent enough for me to like enough to keep playing. I then started playing at my grandmother’s after school. This became a device that made her happy and made me happy in return. I privately would write music throughout middle and high school. I feel there are several other musicians out there that wrote privately for themselves. Music can be a very private passion. It is your thoughts, feelings, but also skill. When you make it known to others you are subjecting yourself to being teased or critiquing when all you really wanted to do was share and connect or make someone consider the message or story being told.
