Photography can be a great way to take a seemingly normal image and expose a beauty in it you may never have noticed before. This is what happened when I was taking photos of the obvious: trees, flowers, and birds outside my home. I glanced down as my son’s basketball barely brushed by me and my camera, and noticed this interesting designย and play of reflection occurring inside this object. The name of this photograph is ‘Lens to Lens’. Which is a hint as to what this is. You can see the original color here.

Car Hearlight is it? Very nicely done. Thumbs up…Loved your blog, following it ๐
“take a seemingly normal image and expose a beauty in it you may never have noticed before” — that is my favorite kind of art. Are you familiar with Daniel Wurtzel? That’s what he does. http://zorgor.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/artist-daniel-wurtzel/
Great photo! I had to look at the original too, and then it still took a while to figure out it was a car headlight. It looks like it must be crystal wine glasses or something.
OK, I saw it. Well worth the trip over. I also saw you and share same group of favorite artists. Kandinsky, Matisse espec.
Ah! Cool! ๐
Thanks blogger zorgor!
I had to watch the original color photo to find out what it might be. A car’s headlight reflector is the closest match I could come up with.
The b&w conversion adds an interesting “artistic” effect, well done ๐
Yes. The sun was bright and there were so many different patterns and reflections, I thought it would make an interesting black and white photo.
Very cool, Jennifer! The B&W conversation is awesome.
Thanks Gracie! By posting the color, you can really see the difference that can be made sometimes between the two.
Another brilliant blog to follow…where am i going to find all this time..
Wow! Thanks! I look forward to blogging with you.
Love it in b&w !
Agreed! It’s amazing what simplifying can do!
Excellent photo, Jennifer. It looks like a shot of a glass taken under a glass table top which has caught reflections of the surroundings, but then, I’m probably wrong! I too agree that the BW is much better.
That would be fun to try out! It’s funny how bw change change an images personality isn’t?
hmmm…intriguing…like it
Thanks!
Yep, it’s a headlight. ๐ The black and white version is definitely the best choice. It seems to bring out more details, or at least catches the eye a little more. I think it’s because the viewer isn’t distracted by the slight color. Nice capture!
Hah! Agree! I posted the color this evening as a further hint. I just followed your blog, and visited your bike rake. I enjoyed the play of the shadows.
Very interesting shot, whatever it is…I’ve spent a fair amount of time looking at it and I still can’t hazard a guess.
I’ll post the answer tonight.
Whatever it is, I love it. The world is amazing when we start looking closely.
Thanks! Yes, I agree and blogging has encouraged me to do it more often.
I don’t know what it is, but I like this image, and I agree, just looking around and you can see interesting designs. ๐ Great image and post, Jennifer!
Thanks Katie! Your abstract was pretty cool today.
This is very cool! ๐
Thanks..you must of been visiting when I was visiting you. I like your thorns!
I agree headlight of a car. Great shot!!
Maybe…maybe not…:-), Thanks for the compliment and I look forward to seeing the photos you were talking about. It’s hard to start, but you have some wonderful images to share!
P.S. Bloggers, we’re friends.
Very cool indeed…and I am thinking it may be the headlight lens of a car.
Thanks and you have a creative eye!
