Not a moment of disappointment, even with the rainy days at Interlochen, The weather was a crisp mid 50s, however it really didn’t feel cold like it does back here on the Eastern Shore. We arrived at Interlochen State Park amazed once again at the well maintained campsites. This was our first stop from our Indiana Dunes journey. Although it was rainy for most of the two days we had there we still were able to make the best of things by just relaxing a bit. We didn’t hit any of the trails, however there were plenty and the water was so clear it was hard not to resist going in.
Arriving at Wilderness State Park was a complete transformation. The site had a view of the large vast lake and we were steps from the beach which was filled with eye catching rocks and on occasion sea glass. We took a few bike adventures and there were miles of biking possibilities.
We took to the trails first thing and biked along a path that led us deep into the woods with view of swampland and a few mud & tree obstacles.
The second day we decided to clean ourselves up a bit and ride into the large town. It was a 10 mile ride into the town which travelled along the coast.
I can’t recommend Wilderness State Park enough. I hope to return with plans to even more exploration in this charming and beautiful area.
