The premise of my latest release ‘Sweet Sweet Love’ is about the addiction young love can be and the realization that the meaning of love changes as you become a grown up. It is a fun upbeat song that has a blues and folk vibe. When I wrote this I honestly had no one in mind and I was looking for a fun story to go with the melody I had come up with at the moment. It started to take shape quickly and I really didn’t alter it much except for the ending after my initial recording.
This was written at the start of my discovery or re-discovery of songwriting in 2023. As I kept performing it the ending became more and more jazzier and improvised.
