Finished my new cover design for my next release ‘Snow Day’. I love this photo of my son I captured many years ago while vacationing in Ocean City Maryland. In my mind, it fits the song perfectly. It illustrates what life should be like. A surprise snowstorm greeted us the evening we arrived. Of course, being boys, the first thing my sons saw was this huge pile of snow. So, my natural mother instinct was to run over and say “No!”. Even more humorous was the sign “No” behind them that I laughingly pointed out after they landed safely from their flight. Looking back now, I realize these were the same boys that acted like ninjas on the jungle gyms. I am also reflecting on the message I attempt to beam into my sons’ minds (now in their twenties), at least weekly. Take a leap and do what you enjoy. You may not know where you’ll land but you’ll have fun getting there. You only live once.
During our last snowstorm (which just happened to be my birthday), I was staring out the window watching the snow fall in my backyard with my favorite ‘Live is Good’ mug and I just started humming a few notes. Before I knew it, I was downstairs with my guitar transforming those notes into a short but sweet song.
Currently, I am between professionally produced songs, so I decided to record this live in my basement with only my dog as an audience participant. I’m doing a casual release because I did the production myself as a “Live” and I am green in that area, but I really wanted to share the song with people looking for a sweet, short, song which may bring up some happy memories or inspire new ones.
This is on Apple Music and iTunes, any day now it will be showing up on YouTube (free) & YouTube Music
You can follow my YouTube Channel for this release as well (dropping any hour). I am honestly waiting to see if I need to adjust anything like the volume because every platform can handle your sound file a bit differently.
